This is it.

We are getting ready to walk out the door of our hotel room to meet Evelyn for the first time.
We are beside ourselves with excitement yet nervous and scared all at the same time.
Maybe this it the feeling you have when you go to the hospital in labor. I don't know?
Very soon we will see our daughter face to face and hold her in our arms. This is the moment we have been longing for and waiting for since August 2009.
It's here.
We walk out this door as Patrick and Amy.
When we return in a few short hours we will be
mama and daddy.
This is it.

And yes, Amy, it is very much like labor...complete with deep breathing and tears. And when you hold that baby for the very first time....well, it's indescribable. ENJOY EVERY SECOND OF IT.
